What are the options?

A student who has experienced sexual harassment or sexual violence is not required, 了解, 或怀疑, sexual harassment or sexual violence has occurred against another student are not required to report these incidents unless they are designated as a mandatory reporter.

UNH has a comprehensive system to assist students who choose to report sexual violence. Those  who wish to make a report have a few different options. Complaints can be filed directly with the 第九条协调员 and/or the UNH Police. 的y may also report to a mandatory reporter, submit a report (including anonymous reports) through the 事故报告表 or speak with 特权及保密支援服务. For a full description of UNH policies and procedures for reporting sexual violence complaints, .

除了以上, information can be sent directly to the 第九条协调员 by submitting the information via the Incident Report From (IRF)or by sharing information with a mandatory reporter.  另外,  reports made directly to the UNH Police will prompt the agency to make an automatic report to the 第九条协调员.

UNH is required by law to take action once a report of sexual harassment or sexual violence has been received.  If the impacted party does not want an investigation or disciplinary action to take place, or otherwise wishes their identity remain confidential, 然而, honoring such a request may limit UNH’s ability to respond fully to the incident and, 在某些情况下, UNH may override the request for confidentiality and engage in the grievance process to maintain a 安全 community.

Directly reporting incidents to the Civil Rights & Equity Office/第九条协调员 or UNHPD allows for the fastest response by the University.  If there is an emergency, please call 911.

A mandatory reporter refers to certain individuals at UNH who are required to report any information they receive indicating that a student has been subjected to sexual harassment or sexual violence to the 第九条协调员.  When mandatory reporters share information with the 第九条协调员, this prompts the University to take responsive action consistent with its sexual violence policy and procedures. Graduate and Undergraduate Student Senate Executive Leaders (when conducting work for the Student Senate), Youth Camp Counselors working with minors, UNH Manchester Peer Leaders and Peer Advisors, Student Campus Safety Officers working for UNH PD.

例如, if a student writes about an incident of sexual violence in a paper, or emails a professor and indicates they cannot attend class due to a sexual violence incident, the professor is required to report that information to the 第九条协调员.  类似的, if a student shares with their Resident Assistant they were sexually assaulted over the weekend, regardless of whether that assault occurred here, 在另一所大学, 或者在家里, the Resident Assistant is required to report that information to the 第九条协调员. 的 第九条协调员 or UNHPD will then reach out in accordance with university policy to address the matter further.

UNH mandatory reporters do not include the privileged confidential support providers

Those who wish to file an anonymous report of sexual violence or sexual harassment about themselves or others may do so in any one of the following ways:

  • 在线 事故报告表 sends a report directly to the UNH 第九条协调员 (not monitored 24/7)
  • 联系 UNH Privileged Confidential Support 资源 (details and contact information below).

Reporting sexual violence anonymously may limit UNH's ability to respond fully and effectively to sexual violence complaints, Anonymous reporting is only available to UNH students who are not mandatory reporters.  UNH mandatory reporters must report directly to the 第九条协调员.

Option 4:

While we encourage students and others to report sexual violence incidents so that we can keep you, 以及整个校园, 安全, we understand the difficulties that such processes can entail.  因此, 联合国卫生组织提供医疗服务, counseling and general advice about options through our 特权及保密支援服务 . (EAP), and professional staff in the Beauregard Center.  Discussions with these offices will not trigger a police investigation, UNH investigation or student conduct proceeding unless you request it.  You can also start with privileged confidential support services and then, 如果你改变主意了, you can file a report at a later time or ask that provider to help you file a report.
